What to Expect From Your Visit

Whether you’re visiting us for the first time or returning after a period away, we’re thrilled to welcome you and your pet! We know that navigating a vet visit can be a bit overwhelming, so we’ve put together this complete visit walkthrough so you know what to expect from the experience. From the moment you check in to when you leave with your four-legged companions, we’re here to make sure you both feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way!

Arrival and Check In

Upon arrival, please ensure your pet is on a leash or in a carrier, as it is required by our hospital safety policy. You can then check in at the front desk, where our receptionist team will verify you and your pet’s information and be able to answer any initial questions. New clients will need to complete paperwork during check-in. Afterward, you and your pet can relax in our waiting area until you are brought back for your appointment.

Pre-Examination

Once the examination room is clear one of our veterinary assistants will come get you. They’ll take your pet’s vital signs, such as weight and temperature, and may do a few preliminary tests if needed. They’ll chat with you about your pet’s medical history and any current health issues, behavior changes, diet, and lifestyle. This helps the veterinarian get a complete picture of your pet’s well-being before diving into the full examination.

Examination

Once everything is set, the veterinarian will be ready to conduct a thorough examination. When the veterinarian joins you in the exam room, they’ll first review the information provided by the assistant and get acquainted with your pet. They will then do a through examination of your pet; checking their heart, lungs, eyes, ears, and teeth. If needed, they might suggest or carry out additional tests like blood work or X-rays.

Discussion and Questions

After the exam, the veterinarian will then go over their findings with you and recommend the best course of action moving forward. Whether it’s a new medication, a treatment plan, or follow-up appointments, they’ll explain instructions and answer any questions you might have. We want to make sure you’re comfortable and well-informed, so don’t hesitate to ask for any clarifications! Some tests results might take a few days so they will reach out to you over the phone about your pet's results.

Check Out

After your appointment is over, head to the front desk to checkout. Our vet assistants will enter the charges for our reception staff to review with you. You can pay using cash, check, Care Credit, credit/debit card, or contactless payment options. Our receptionists will finalize the payment, address any billing questions, and assist with scheduling any necessary follow-up appointments or treatments. Medications refills (including preventatives) can be filled at this time or a written script can be provided if needed.
